Tuesday, October 2

Julia had a perfectly routine trip to the dentist today right after school. No problems detected, just a bit of laxness on Julia's brushing habits; she misses spots on a regular basis, and stuff builds up there between cleanings.

Saturday, October 6

We went back to Spooky World tonight. Unfortunately, compared to last year, it was a big disappointment. Several of the rides, including the Haunted Hay Ride, were gone, so the whole thing was a lot smaller. We had the VIP tickets again this year, but the meal they served was a big letdown from last year's, and the lines were enormous. I doubt we'll be back any time soon.

Despite Julia's being off of Quinacrine for several months, her fingernails are still glowing pretty brightly under UV light, as evidenced in the 3D Haunted Disco. I guess it takes a long time for that stuff to get out of her system.

It's Columbus Day, and everyone had the day off, so we decided to take the ride into Boston for blood work today instead of our usual first Saturday. It worked out well - traffic was a non-issue, and the wait at the blood lab was minimal.

Julia had a bit of a fall in school today during gym class. She banged up her right arm and leg, but they weren't bothering her too much by the evening. It does look like she'll have a couple of bruises, though.

We emailed Dr. A.W. and she got us all the results from Monday's labs - they look great!! We are dropping from 7.5mg to 5mg of Methotrexate starting tomorrow. Here are the raw results: CK 81, AST 22, ALT 12, LDH 197, aldolase 3.5, vonWillibrand's Factor 123, White Blood Cells 4.87, hematocrit 37.4, platelets 399, sedimentation rate 9.

Current Drug Dose: Prednisone: 3mg/day Folic Acid: 1mg/day Calcium: 900mg/day Methotrexate: 5mg/week

Saturday, October 27

Julia's school had their annual Halloween party tonight. This year, Julia is a witch. Mom made the costume, as usual, and it's great! The witch's cape is make of a black spider web material. Very creey and cool looking.

Unfortunately, there were a ton of witches at the party, at least a dozen, so Julia's costume got lost in the shuffle. Still, the food was good, the DJ was loud, and everyone had a fun time.

Wednesday, October 31

Happy Halloween! Despite a cold and drizzly night out, Julia did the annual tradition, she went around our street with a teen friend of ours, while the adults stayed home and drank a glass of wine or two. Julia naturally collected a pillowcase full of candy. Just what we all need!
