Wonderful website. Found it via google looking for a bike rack for my 1996 RAV4. Would love to use a swing-away 4-bike rack for a trailor hitch (which I don't have, but assume I could install). I've seen these on other vehicles, but haven't yet found who makes them. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Ralph! My son Deshaun was recently diagnosed with JDMS. My family is having a hard time adjusting to his illness. This disease has taken a vibrant, active handsome 9 year old into a totally different child. I am so glad that I found your web page. It has helped me prepare for what's ahead for me. I don't recall if Julia has JDMS with an overlap or not. My son does and he has just about every symptom. I haven't finished reading the page as of yet, but I anticipate getting to towards the last entry to see how things are going with your precious baby. Thanks again for such an informative web page. I have learned more things from you than a doctor could have prepared me for. Good Luck!

I think it is wonderful that you took the time and effort to document through Julia's diagnosis. My daughter was 5 years old when she was diagnosed with this same disease. That was back in 1988. Unfortunately, she did suffer with ALL the consequences that go along with it. Her muscles had deteriorate so much that she was wheelchair bound for a short time, and had to be fed, carried, and re-trained to walk along with the prednisone therapy. She had severe muscle pain and strenght loss, rash, horrible sores, weight gain, and developed cataracts from the prednisone. I am happy to say that today she is pain free, medicine free, and a well adjusted 19 year old. We only hope and pray that these symptoms never resurface again and her fight with JDMS is a thing of the past. Good luck Julia, and God bless.
